Historical background
Sardarni Gurdial Kaur Educational Trust was established in the year 1992 in the fond memory of Sardarni Gurdial Kaur of Rania village (that lies 20 km from Moga on Barnala road) who left for her heavenly abode in the same year. S. Chand Singh Dhaliwal of village Rania was the Founder Chairman of the trust. The trust was formed to work as non-profitable, non-political charitable organization to serve the humanity in general and the students in particular. To encourage healthy cometition and inject inspiration for education, trust announced monthly scholarships for the students of government senior secondary school at village Rania for classes VI to XII from the session 1992-93.

The scholarships were to be awarded to the student who stood first and second in their respective classes. Later in the years, students from classes Ist to Vth were also covered under the scholarship scheme. The trust also introduced best teacher award in the year 1997. Trust has been providing free school uniforms to the poor students and blankets and clothing to old, poor people. It has been holding its annual prize distribution since 1993, which has been presided over by prominent persnalities. Trust has introduced degree scholarships from the year 2006-2007 for the students pursuing professional four year degree programmes after 12th grade exams in the science stream for the rural students of district Moga.

The trust has sponsered free medical eye camps for the rural poor in collaboration with Sardarni Sukhninder Kaur Charitable Hospital, Lohara (Moga) where the sightless get the new lenses implanted without spending a single penny. From time to time the Trust has provided financial support to sports bodies and other NGO's working for the social cause
